ISLANDERS FACE SCHEDULE STORM WITH RAGE

OFFENSE AWAKENS TO DISMAY OF LEAGUE

 November 12, 2012 

The Islanders Hockey Club boldly turned the corner to the holidays by winning 5 straight including four wins in five days.  The IHC offense clicked for the first time over consecutive games as well and amassed 31 goals for while allowing only 9 against over the span.

Yale-bound winger Mike Doherty propelled himself into the EJHL scoring race with a 6G and 7A line over the five games.  Other offensive stalwarts for the Isles were Connor Anthoine, Chris Izmirlian, Zach Sanford, Mike Jamieson and Conor MacPhee.

 

After rebounding against Rochester with a 6-1 road win the Isles set their sites on South division power South Shore Kings.  After some tweaking by Coach Tremblay the power play unit ramped up to nearly 40% efficiency leading the way to an 11-4 win.  Jamieson and Izmirlian each scored Hat Tricks to lead the way.  Next up was the Springfield Pics at the Haverhill Showcase.  MacPhee notched 2 enroute to a 3-1 Islander victory.

Atlanta was next on the Showcase list and the hosts disposed of the southern visitors 4-1 while looking forward to closing out the weekend against NY Applecore.

At Hockey East’s Merrimack College venue the Isles were led by a two -goal Jamieson effort and rolled to a 7-2 victory.  Princeton-bound Colton Phinney earned 4 wins in net and Mark Hochman picked up the fifth win for the Islanders.

The EJHL club is heading north to take on the Portland Pirates Wednesday then will play the weekend against NH Monarchs and the Pics before breaking for Holiday.
