Premier Division Assistant Coach

North Andover, MA – The Islanders Hockey Club of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) is pleased to announce the hiring of Pat Bowen.  Pat will join Sean Tremblay’s staff as assistant coach with the Premier Team.  “I am thrilled to have a young, aspiring coach who is also a former player of mine and knows what our culture is all about on and off the ice,” stated GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay.  “Pat has a lot to offer our players and is a great addition to our organization.  Having played on a championship team with me and then helping Merrimack College Hockey grow to where it is today under Mark Dennehy, Pat will certainly add a lot of character to our program.”

Pat was born in Boston, MA and grew up in nearby Marshfield where he started his hockey career playing defense and earning HNIB All Scholastic, Top Defenseman and Best Pro Prospect honors in high school.  After departing the Pomfret School to play for the Chicago Steel (USHL), he headed back east and played under current Islanders Head Coach Sean Tremblay, where he amassed 41 pts in 43 games and earned his way to the EJHL all star team, while also capturing the league championship (2005-2006).  The following year Pat started his collegiate career with Merrimack College (Hockey East), and was selected team Captain his senior season (2009-2010), tallying a career high 19 pts from the Blue line, as well as capturing the strength and conditioning athlete of the year in 2009 and 2010.  Pat began his Professional career with the Ontario Reign (ECHL) where he played two full seasons with the L.A Kings minor league affiliate. Last season Pat played for the Dundee Stars of the British Elite League (EIHL) and had 32 points during the season.  Pat holds a Political Science degree.
