Punsky to join IHC Coaching Staff

The Islanders Hockey Club is excited to announce the addition of Jay Punsky to the coaching staff.

Coach Punsky is thrilled to join the Islanders Hockey Club. Prior to working with the Islanders, he served as head coach of the Boston Bandits Premier & Elite teams from 2017-2020 as well as assistant coach of the NCDC team and director of goaltending. He was the General Manager of the Bandits’ NCDC team for the 2019-20 season. Under Coach Punsky’s leadership the Bandits’ Premier team went to the Final Four of the 2019 National Championship. From 2015-2017 he served as head coach of the Cape Cod Islanders Junior A team, leading them to a conference championship victory in 2016. He was named NA3EHL ‘Coach of the Year’ in 2016. He also served as premier assistant coach for the Bay State Breakers from 2013-15. Coach Punsky has over 13 years of coaching experience, a career record of 223-95-24, and a master’s degree in sports management with a concentration in coaching from New England College. He received dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and administration of justice from Salve Regina University. Jay is a level 4 USA hockey certified coach and lives in Dartmouth, MA with his wife Bonnie.
