Note: October Players Of The Month includes September statistics.

Forwards

Braxton Powers, Islanders Hockey Club

The Captain of the Islanders, the three-year veteran Powers (‘04/Raleigh, N.C.) has been tremendous in keeping the IHC near the top of the New England standings all season. He’s been Mr. Consistent, scoring seven goals and seven assists for 14 points through his first 14 games. Additionally, Powers recently moved into second all-time in IHC scoring with a 40-41-81 line for his career and is just five points off tying current University of New Hampshire (NCAA Division I) forward Cy LeClerc at the top of the team leaderboard.

Defensemen

Samuel Larsson, Islanders Hockey Club

Larsson (‘04/Stockholm, Sweden) put up two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 14 games out of the gate this year. He became the IHC’s all-time leader in points by a defenseman with 46 so far in his career, and he helped the Islanders jump out to a strong start that currently sees them ranked in third place in New England. The Islanders are fourth in fewest shots against per game at 30.79.

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
