CENTERVILLE, Mass. -- University of New England men's ice hockey player Zeth Zielinski (Woonsocket, R.I.) has been named the ECAC East League Rookie of the Week for the period ending November 27. The league office made the announcement Monday evening.

 

The first-year forward tallied four points over the weekend, as UNE captured the PAL Cup out of a field of UMass Boston, Southern New Hampshire, and Worcester State. He registered an assist in a 6-3 win over the host Penmen in the first round, and then had a hand in all three Big Blue goals (1 goal, 2 assists) as the Nor'easters skated to a 3-3 overtime tie with the Beacons. UNE edged UMass Boston, 2-0, in the ensuing shootout to decide the final.
