Former Huskie Joins Coaching Staff

Mark Yates joins the New England Huskies and Middlesex Islanders coaching staff

The New England Huskies and Middlesex Islanders are pleased to announce the addition of Mark Yates to their organizations.   Mark’s playing career has seen stints with the Cleveland Junior Barons, the Summerland Sting of the Kootenay International Hockey League and the New England Huskies of the Eastern Junior Hockey League. 
 
Upon the completion of his playing career, Mark returned to Phoenix where he began working with the Phoenix Mustangs Midget AA 16 & Under team while working at Fischer Sports, a training and rehab facility for pro athletes.  He also worked closely with Boris Dorozhenko, a preeminent skating instructor.
 
In 2009 Mark moved back to Massachusetts where he became the Director of Hockey Operations for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell team.  After UMass Lowell, Mark spent a year as the assistant coach of the Connecticut Jr. Wolfpack’s Atlantic Jr. Hockey League and Metropolitan Junior Hockey League teams.
 
Mark is joining the New England Huskies as an assistant coach for the organization’s Eastern Junior and Continental Hockey League teams and will coach the Middlesex Islander 2000 AAA Team
