Empire Huskies Start Pre Season in Hooksett, NH With 3 Wins

The Empire Huskies headed to Hooksett, NH for 3 pre season games as they prepare for the upcoming season. The Huskies after a week long training camp and week of practice were eager to get into some game action.

On Friday the Huskies faced the Northern Mass Cyclones of the rival Metropolitan Hockey League (MET). The Huskies controlled the game but had trouble finding the back of the net. The Huskies ended up winning with a final of 3-1. Marc Hochmann got the win in net and goals were scored by veterans Ole Setsaas, Matt Rasimowics and Tim Wurman.

Saturday the Huskies had two contests with the first being the Salem Ice Dogs of the Empire League. The Huskies came out again controlling play for most of the game but were finally able to find the back of the net taking this game with a 7-1 win. There were 6 different scorers with Pat Trainor having 2 to lead the way in the contest while new comer John Miller getting the win.

The Huskies then had a few hours off and then met up with the NH Monarchs of the Continental Hockey Association (CHA). Again this game went much like the first two with the Huskies controlling the play from the drop of the puck. The Huskies continued their scoring ways by putting up 7 more goals for win of 7-0. The offense was lead by David Sweet (2g, 1a), Ole setsaas (1g, 2a) and Tim Wurman (1g, 2a). Marc Hochmann and John Miller split the game to get the shut out.

The Huskies get back to practice this week to prepare for 4 more pre-season games this upcoming weekend. The Huskies will be traveling with the EJ team on Thursday up to the highly scouted Woodchuck Classic in Burlington, VT hosted by the Vermont Glades. The Huskies will face the Atlanta Knights, East Coast Selects and Mass Maple Leafs.
