In a rarity at Skate 3 both teams shot totals barely reached the 20's despite numerous power plays and shots attempted. The Breakers came away with a 6-5 win over the Huskies despite top games by Kyle Demers, Nick Gawron and Whitney Olsen.
Kyle Demers broke the ice at 12:09 mark of the first period on a pretty finish from a Cody Gut feed to start the scoring. Over the next none minutes to finish the period 4 more goals were potted. Whitney Olsen scored from the left point on the PP for the Huskies second goal of the period, but Bay State took a 3-2 to intermission.
Huskies defenseman Nick Gawron jumped up ice on the rush to snap home a Mike Cifelli pass for a short-handed goal to tie the game at 3-apiece. Bay State sscored the next 3 to hold a seemingly comfortable 6-3 lead in teh third period, but some undisciplined play put the Huskies back on the PP and they capitalized for two goals and just seemed to run out game time trying to tie the score.
Matt Lemire ripped a PP goal from the right circle off the far post to cut the lead to 6-4. Demers recorded his second of the game on the power play and the extra atacker with 1:06 on the clock. THe Huskies stormed the gates but could not get the equalizer and dropped the 6-5 decision. The Huskies finished with 20 shots on Breakers net and Mike Reed faced 21 shots in the loss.
