Right wing Conor MacPhee scored two goals and assisted on the third and goaltender Colton Phinney stopped 16 shots leading the Islanders to a 3-0 EJHL victory in the opening game of the 12^th annual Islander Showcase.

The Islanders set the pace on the first shift of the game netting all Phinney would need.  Chris Izmirlian scored 40 seconds into the game with line-mates MacPhee and Mike Doherty assisting.  Breakers goalie Ben Halford made some big stops keeping the sore close. 

MacPhee scored on a tip from Derek Stahl and Doherty four minutes into the second period to make it 2-0.  The big Providence bound forward got his second tip, this time on the backhand, to give the Isles a 3-0 lead.  Doherty and Izmirlian assisted on the power-play tally.  Phinney earned the shutout with 16 saves while Halford faced 43 shots in taking the loss. 

The Islanders host Philadelphia in their next Showcase game on Saturday.
