The U18 Islanders went 1-1-2 this past weekend at the Beantown Fall Classic. They started off the weekend with a huge test against Sainte Foy, with only 6 forwards and 3 defenseman. The players responded with a great effort, played great team defense, and still managed to create some quality scoring chances. Graham Hunt came up big in net, and gave his teammates a chance to win. The Islanders came up just short with a 1-0 loss, but the coaching staff was very pleased with the teams effort.

The next day, the Islanders received some reinforcement as they needed a victory agaisnt Dallas Alliance, to have a chance to move on in the tournament. The Islanders started off slow, and Dallas established their physical play as they outplayed the Islanders in the 1st. Neither team was able to find the back of the net, even though both had quality opportunities to get the games 1st goal. The Islanders came out in the 2nd period looking to prove they were the better team as they started skating and moving the puck, like they are accustomed to. Dallas weathered the storm and went into the break with a 1-0 lead. The 3rd period started with both teams determined to get the victory. The play went back and forth until the Isanders were finally able to put one past the Dallas goaltender. Pat Germain was at the right spot at the right time, as he gathered a rebound and slipped the puck past the goalie. Bobo Carpenter and Jamie Cotnoir got the assists on the goal. The Islanders got a huge burst of energy after the goal and started to take control of the game. David Sweet put the Islanders up for good when he received a great pass from Mike Seibold and buried the puck. Carpenter put the game away with an empty net goal with 2 great outlet passes from Zach D'errico and Ryan Conery. Graham Hunt played solid in net again, as he faced point blank shots throughout the game.

The Islanders faced Blyth Academy next as they needed a win to give themselves a better chance to move on to the cross over games on Saturday. Blyth scored first and took a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period. The Islanders fought their way back and scored 3 goals in the 2nd period. Carpenter started off the scoring with assists giong to Germain and Sweet. Danny Moynihan put the Islanders ahead with a powerplay goal, with the assists going to Cotnoir and Kyle Puzar. Cotnoir gave the Islanders a two goal lead when he snuck past the Blyth defense and scored a powerplay goal, as time expired in the 2nd period, with the assits going to Puzar and D'errico. Despite the 2 goal deficit, Blyth Academy fought back and scored two goals in the 3rd to tie the game, and that would be how the game finished. Greg Polechronis made some huge saves early for the Islanders and gave his team a chance to win.

With a 1-1-1 record on the weekend the Islanders drew Belle Tire for their 4th game on the weekend. Both teams came out skating and hitting, which would be sustained throughout the entire game. Belle Tire struck first, but the Islanders responded with a great goal by Ryan Conery. Tomas Parizek passed up to Richie Greenberg, who chipped the puck up to Conery, who flew past the Belle Tire defense and deeked the goalie to tie the game. Belle Tire answered back before the end of the period to take a 2-1 lead going into the 2nd period. The Islanders tied the game up when Carpenter picked off a pass just outside the blue line and beat both defenseman for a breakaway, and beat the goalie with a backhand shot. Belle Tire took the lead back scoring their 3rd goal of the game. The Islanders responded with a great shot off the rebound from Parizek, with the orignial shot coming from Moynihan.
