Tyngsboro, MA – Islanders Hockey Club GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay is pleased to announce over $12,000 has been raised through the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.

“Between both my personal family and the Islanders hockey family, over $12,000 has been donated to date as part of Avalanna’s Angels Against AT/RT,” stated Tremblay.  “We are not done as more people continue to donate as we have until November 1, 2012 to raise more money.  I am blown away by the generosity of all of my friends and family both personally and professionally.  Yesterday was a great day for our team as we all walked together from Boston College to Copley Square in honor of Avalanna Routh and in memory of Guy Lajeunesse.”

Over 80 registered walkers and well over 100 people walked on Sunday as part of Avalanna’s Angels.  The team has raised over $50,000 and is the #1 new Jimmy Fund team.  All members of both the Islanders EJHL and Empire team participated in the walk and fundraising as well as past members of Coach Tremblay’s team as Stephen McKenna, Zach Andrews, and Trevor van Riemsdyk joined in for a great day.

Coach Tremblay went on to say, “Walking for Avalanna Routh and Guy Lajeunesse was better than any game we could have played this past weekend and we all look forward to next year’s walk.  I want to thank Cam and Aileen Routh for allowing us to be a part of their lives and to have a special girl like Avalanna be a part of our family.  I also want to say thanks to June Lajeunesse for letting us walk in memory of Guy, father of current Islanders Kyle Lajeunesse who passed away this past May of brain cancer.  Both people are very dear to our hearts and yesterday is a day that all of us will remember for a long time.”

You can still donate up until November 1, 2012 by visiting the Jimmy Fund website.  Click Jimmy Fund Walk, click “support a participant”, type in Sean Tremblay and follow from there…thanks again!!!
