U16 Inaugural Season Starts with 2 Wins

The Islanders Hockey Club u16 started their season at the new Chelsea Piers facility in Stamford, Connecticut, for the Connecticut Yankees Showcase.

The Islanders Hockey Club u16 started their season at the new Chelsea Piers facility in Stamford, Connecticut, for the Connecticut Yankees Showcase. Their 1st game and win came against Suffolk PAL with a 4-1 effort. Sammy Michaud, Bobo Carpenter, Connor Moynihan, and Michael Either each scored goals, while Aidan Critchlow was there to anchor the team and get his 1st win of the season. 
The Islanders fell short in their next 2 games against top-level competition. Mid-Fairfield was too much in the end, as the Islanders lost 4-0 with an empty net goal. Justin Gray got his first start of the season, and kept his teammates in the game with a great effort. The Islanders would be tested again as they played Selects Hockey Academy, one of the best teams in country. The two teams put on a great show, as both teams battled hard but it was Selects in the end that won 3-1, with an empty net goal. Ritchie Greenberg had the lone goal for the Islanders and Joe Beauchesne was big in net, as he kept his team in the game. 
On Sunday, the Islanders got back to their winning ways with a big 3-2 win against the New Jersey Hitmen. Shane Napolitano, Dylan Vrees, and Bobo Carpenter were the goal scorers, as Critchlow got his 2nd win of the season. The last game of the showcase was against the Connecticut Chiefs. The Islanders dominated played but came up on the losing end 3-2. Michaud had both goals in the game.
