Matt Johnson joins Islanders Staff

Coach Johnson joins the staff of the Islanders heading up the ESHL team.

Coach Johnson joins the Islander Staff after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the St. Mary’s Spartans of Lynn (M.I.A.A. Div 1).  During his time with the Spartans the team not only won league titles twice, they also had an undefeated season which led to their first appearance in the Super 8 tournament in school history. 
 
Coach Johnson has also worked with Dynamic Skating, Elite Hockey School,  Head Coach of the U-16 N.S. Wings and Mass Attack Hockey and USA Hockey New England Development Camp.
 
Coach Johnson played at Norwich University, winning the 2007 ECAC East regular season. He also was a walk-on at Providence College, prior to finishing his Athletic Administration degree at Salem State University. 
 
Coach Johnson  attended Tilton Prep School, were he was named Captain his senior year.  At Tilton Prep, he lead the team in scoring and was named MVP. 
 
Prior to prep school, Coach Johnson played  three years at Lynn English High School, were he was named an Rookie of the Year and a two time All Conference All Star.
