North Andover, MA – Islanders Hockey Club defenseman Maximilian Daigle has verbally accepted a scholarship offer and will attend the University of Vermont after his time with the IHC. “This is exactly why I chose to play for the Islanders,” stated Daigle. “I felt comfortable in my ability to play and with Coach Tremblay’s track record for developing elite players and getting them to Division One schools I knew I could get there.” A Montreal, Quebec native he will play in one of the greatest buildings in college hockey just over an hour from his home. GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay has been more than pleased with the play of Max. He stated, “Max is as honest a player as the day is long. I never have to wonder if he will be ready come game time. He is a true competitor and it is this competitive spirit that has allowed him to achieve his dream of playing in Hockey East. He is a tremendous skater, has great poise with the puck, distributes it well, and plays a hard-nosed defensive game. He will be a great college hockey player and I look forward to watching him play for Coaches Kevin Sneddon, Kyle Wallack, and Kevin Patrick.” Before coming to the IHC the 5’10, 190lb right-shot defender played at Choate Rosemary Hall for Coach Pat Dennehy. “Pat told me when I received Max and teammate Owen Powers commitments to play for me I was getting two of the finest young men he has ever had the pleasure of coaching and he was 100% accurate.” Tremblay went on to say, “Max embodies what I look for in both a player and as a person. His talent and his character are hard for any peer to match. He is a true leader and will have a very successful life both on and off of the ice.”
