North Andover, MA – The Islanders Hockey Club swept the PAL NY Jr Islanders to advance to the USPHL Final Four for the 2nd year-in-a-row. Game one in the series was one of the more entertaining games of the year with several lead changes, the IHC down two goals late in the third, some heroics to tie it up and later win it in overtime 6-5. Lloyd Hayes played the role of hero as he scored not only the game tying goal with just under three minutes to play, but would also score again with just over three minutes to play in overtime to send the boys into hysteria. The same hysteria would prove to be too much the next day for the visiting PAL as the Islanders Hockey Club would jump out to a 2-0 lead and never look back emerging with an 8-1 win. During the two games all but one player would register at least one point and both Will Massey and Anthony Tirabassi would shut the door down when needed in goal. The IHC will now travel to face the Philadelphia Flyers for a best of three series starting Friday night at 7pm.
