The U16 Islanders Hockey Club is off to a great start and currently sits in Third place amongst all USPHL teams. After dropping their first two games to Providence and Adirondack by one goal each, the boys have bounced back winning 4 of the next 6 with one of the loses coming by way of shootout to a very strong Skipjacks team. The Islanders have picked up wins against Adirondack, Providence, and South Shore and they will look to continue their winning ways this weekend with a home and home with Providence.

The team has seen contributions from every player and currently has six players in the top 10 in league scoring. Leading the way for IHC is Jack Quinn who is currently fourth in league scoring with a 6-4-10 line. Connor Lind leads all USPHL defensemen in scoring with a 2-6-8 line and is sixth overall. Brendan Sjostedt, Cody Nolin, Greg McGunigle, and Jack Rademacher round out the top ten in scoring averaging just under a point per game.   Charlie Sebastyn and Michael Gillis, and Josh Ramirez have also been key contributors for the Islanders offensively. Defensively the team is keeping opponents to an average of two goals per game in large part to the play of Lind, Rademacher, Nolin Harvey, Zach Nelson, Ryan Fitzgerald, Michael Provvisionato, Kyle Robbins, and Quinn Hutchins.

The key to our early success has been the play of goaltenders Thomas Steere and Eric Morrissey. Steere currently leads all USPHL goalies in almost every stat. He is currently 3-1 with a 1.02 GAA, .951 SV%, 1 shutout, and 77 saves in 200 min played. Eric currently holds a 1-2-1 record and is 1-1-1 in his last 3. Eric has played outstanding all year and if his last two performances are any indication of where he is headed the goaltending duo will most certainly be atop the league by year end.
