Marlboro, MA – The Islanders Hockey Club made it 7 in-a-row with a 4-3 OT win over the Jr Bruins.  The visiting IHC took the lead in the first period on a Pat Hannan missle with board-to-board passes by Ethan Solat and Will Brophy.  Mitch Allen would make it 2-0 on a breakaway feed from Hannan and Solat when he fired a low shot past Ian Milosz.  Allen would strike again in the third on a great goal streaking down the left side and cutting in across Milosz and tucking it in for a 3-0 lead.  Sammy Nardicchio and Jack Moran would pick up helpers on the play coming out of the defensive zone.

It would not end easy as with all good teams the Bruins would not go away striking off a 2-1 play when Ty Warilla would pop home a rebound off a John Picking shot.  Later a PP goal from Tim Doherty would close the gap to one, and with the goalie pulled and the extra attacker the B’s would pop one home with 10 seconds to play when Johnny DeRoche popped home another rebound goal.

In the end it would be red-hot Ace Cowans taking a flip pass from Brendan Soucie and making no mistake with a quick snapper on a breakaway for the road win.  Cowans is coming off record back-to-back hat tricks at last weekends Bruins Showcase when he paced the team to wins over the Jersey Hitmen (6-2) and PAL Islanders (7-2).

Anthony Tirabassi earned his 7th win of the year stopping 36 of 39, while Milosz took the loss stopping 40 of 44.

The 14-2-0 (1st) Islanders will travel once again to Marlboro for another tilt with the 13-3-1 (2nd) Bruins, this time an 8:15pm Saturday evening contest.
