North Andover, MA – Former Islanders Hockey Club (IHC) goaltender Brendan McMenimen is off to an amazing start for SUNY Potsdam playing every minute of every game so far leading them to a 6-0-0 start. McMenimen left the IHC last January and is taking advantage of his opportunity and the Islanders could not be more happy for Brendan.
GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay offered, “Brendan is a young man who is a real fighter, he made the best of what many would perceive to be a tough situation and is thriving. The SUNY conference is arguably one of the toughest leagues to play in and to be 6-0-0 is truly incredible. He has worked so hard for this and I couldn’t be more proud of him and what he has already accomplished."
His stats are out of this world with a .951 save % and a 1.66 GAA. This past weekend alone he stopped 47 of 49 to take down Cortland only to follow it up with 44 of 45 the next night against Oswego. It is a pretty safe bet he will be named SUNYAC Goalie of the Week and quite possibly Goalie of the Month.
