Heads to prestigious school this fall

North Andover, MA – The Islanders Hockey Club is pleased to announce the commitment of Mitchell Allen to Middlebury College. The 6’2 power forward will bring great speed, strength, and scoring to the Panthers this fall. "I am extremely excited to play college hockey at Middlebury College,” stated Allen. “I am looking forward to joining a very strong program under new coach Neil Sinclair and competing for a championship all four years. The education is world class and their facilities and atmosphere top end. I am very fortunate for this opportunity and would like to formally thank my parents first and foremost, as well as the entire staff at the Islanders Hockey Club. I have grown tremendously both as a person and as a player during my two years with the Islanders. It’s been an honor being part of such a professional organization and I look forward to continuing my playing career at Middlebury." GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay commented, “Mitchell has simply become a consistent player for us and is someone we can rely upon each and every night. He has transformed his game into a true power forward with the ability to score goals. He is a great young man from a great family. Mitchell has made a great decision to continue his hockey career at a school with such a rich hockey history. More importantly he has also figured out that Middlebury will prepare him for the next forty years of his life. I couldn’t be happier for Mitchell and wish him nothing but success.” Allen will join former IHC player Vincent Gisonti at Middlebury. Gisonti is tied for the team in goals scored and is third overall in scoring. The Islanders Hockey Club is currently in 1st place in the USPHL with a 34-8-0 record. They host the PAL Islanders tonight at 7:15pm and Saturday at 6pm in Gallant Arena on the campus of Merrimack College.
