North Andover, MA –  GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay of the Islanders Hockey Club is proud to announce four of his former players have been named to the NHL's opening night rosters.  Headlining the group are not one but two recent Stanley Cup Champions.  Brian Dumoulin and the Pittsburgh Penguins are the defending Stanley Cup Champions and are fresh off a visit to the White House from meeting with President Barack Obama.

Trevor van Riemsdyk is a 2015 Stanley Cup Champion with the Chicago Blackhawks and will open up tonight against the St Louis Blues.  The UNH alum is entering his third NHL season.

Brian Flynn of the Montreal Canadians will square off against his former team the Buffalo Sabres tomorrow at 7pm.  The Maine alum is entering his fifth NHL season.

Ironically Zach Sanford will make his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals as a rookie and faceoff against Brian Dumoulin and the Penguins tomorrow at 8pm.  Both Sanford and Dumoulin played not only for Coach Tremblay, but the Boston College Eagles and legendary Jerry York.

“It is an honor to have coached these fine young men and a joy to go home after a long day, turn on the TV, and watch them play,” stated Sean Tremblay.  “There is no coincidence that each of these players were not only the hardest working players on the ice every day, but also solid citizens off the ice.  I could not be more proud of each of them and wish them tremendous success this season.  I also kind of joked to them that I have enjoyed our new tradition of spending a day with Lord Stanley the past two summers and I cannot wait for next summer!"

Also expected to see action in the NHL this season are Paul Thompson with the Florida Panthers, Tim Schaller with Boston Bruins and Thomas Parisi with Montreal.
