Lemieux Heads to the Sun Devils fall of 17

North Andover, MA – The Islanders Hockey Club is pleased to announce Austin Lemieux has accepted a scholarship offer to Arizona State University.  The 6’3 forward will bring a strong ability to make and create plays, a phenomenal hockey IQ, and great hands to the Sun Devils.

“I am extremely honored and excited for the opportunity to attend school and play hockey at Arizona State University,” stated Austin Lemieux.  “ASU has a great program and I intend to do my best to help them progress even more.  I am appreciative and thankful towards my coaches, family, and friends who have helped me throughout this entire journey.  In addition I would especially like to thank the Islanders organization for giving me such a great opportunity.  We have a first class program here that helps players mature both on and off the ice.  I cannot be more proud of my teammates and coaches here at the IHC.”

GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay commented, “I couldn’t be happier for Austin as he truly deserves this opportunity.  Since I first spoke to him and upon his arrival here with the IHC, he has worked diligently to make himself a better player and taken full advantage of what we have to offer our players.  His success on the ice is a direct result from acting like a professional and caring about his craft.  Austin possesses a great set of hands and when combined with his hockey intelligence becomes a threat each time he steps on the ice.  In addition to being a great hockey player, he is an even better person who I know will represent what Coach Powers expects from his players on and off the ice at ASU.  I look forward to helping Austin continue his development and will enjoy watching him at the next level.”

Austin is currently leading the Islanders Hockey Club in scoring with a 10-29-39 line and is also currently tied for the league scoring title.  The Islanders stand at 18-5-1 and will face the PAL Islanders this weekend at home on Saturday and Sunday.  Game times are 7:40pm and 1:40pm respectively.
