North Andover, MA – Perched in a luxury box in their home rink at Merrimack College and surrounded by IHC staff, GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay could not have been more pleased with the outcome of the first National Collegiate Development Conference “Futures Draft” on Tuesday evening.  “We really nailed it,” stated Tremblay.  “Three highly skilled forwards who do nothing but fill the net, two high end defensemen from opposite coasts, and a pure winner in net.  It is the recipe for future championships as well as the nucleus of a team that will be incredibly fun to watch one day.”

The forwards selected were William Margel, a 2001 from the Selects U15; Christian Sarlo, a 2001 from the New Jersey Avalanche U15; and Cole Vallese, a 2002 and member of the New Jersey Colonials U14 team as well as a recent Providence College recruit.

On defense Ryan Johnson, a 2001 from the Anaheim Jr Ducks U16; and Jack Robilotti of the Selects U15 team were selected.

Championships are often won with exceptional goaltending and the IHC secured a true winner in Derek Mullahy, a 2001 member of the Shattuck St. Mary’s team who hails from Scituate, MA.

All six of these outstanding players will attend this summer’s tryout camp and begin the process of becoming Islanders.  “I have no doubt all of these guys will soon be able to play for me within a year or two, who knows, maybe even next year, “commented Sean Tremblay.  “Our motto of ‘Dream Big’ starts now for all of these players and our job is to facilitate that dream.  It is a new era for the IHC and the NCDC and I couldn’t be more thrilled for everyone involved in this process.”
