2 games remain in regular season

North Andover, MA – The Islanders Hockey Club picked up two more wins over the weekend to improve their regular season record to an astonishing 45-3.  A shootout win over the Northern Cyclones was followed by a 7-4 win over the South Shore Kings.  Justin Pearson, Sam Nestor, and Lucas Michaud all tallied 2 goals on the weekend.  Single goal scorers included Liam Darcy, Jack Moran, Mark Gallant, and Brent Hill.  Mark Cheremeta was a big helper with 4 assists.

The final 2 games of the year will be played next weekend when they host the same two teams in Lawler Arena.  Saturday, March 10 at 6:30pm will see the Cyclones come to town, while the Kings will visit the next day for an 11:30am tilt.

The season has been one to remember with a record that might never be broken, let alone some other statistics that could end up being historic.  It will be hard to put up a league leading 244 goals scored with only 99 surrendered.  Keeping up a 26.9% power play and a 90.2% penalty kill over the course of 48 games is also one that might not be met again.  The depth of this team is also on display when the 7 defensemen have scored over 35 goals, also 12 players have over 10+ goals with 7 players scoring over 15 on the year. Brett Hill and Justin Pearson have put up 25 and 29 respectively and 4 players now have over 50 points on the season.
