Sweep Bandits in two games

North Andover, MA – The #1 seed Islanders Hockey Club swept the #8 Boston Bandits this past weekend with scores of 7-3 and 4-2.  The series was the only one of the 4 quarterfinal matchups to end in 2 games.  The IHC awaits the conclusion of todays Jersey Hitmen/Northern Cyclones game 3 to see who they will host this weekend.  If the Cyclones were to upset the Hitmen they would travel to Merrimack for the semi-finals.  If the Hitmen win today the IHC will host the CT Rangers who took down the South Shore Kings in 3 games.

Dartmouth bound goaltender Justin Ferguson was terrific all weekend long, picking up both wins in goal to improve his overall record to 27-2 on the year.  Mark Cheremeta and Brent Hill were the lone multiple goal scorers on the weekend with 2 apiece.  Seven other scorers found the back of the net showing the true depth of this team.  Notching goals on the weekend were Mark Gallant (Colgate), Hayden Taylor, Justin Pearson (Yale), Tyler Levine, Jonathan Young (Merrimack), JJ Layton, and Hunter McCoy.  Lucas Michaud was a force as well picking up 4 assists and winning over 80% of his face-offs.

The IHC will take on the lowest remaining seed this Friday, March 23, 2018 at 6:30pm, and again on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 4pm.  If a game 3 is needed it would be played on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2pm.  All games will be played on Lawler Arena at Merrimack College.
