Marlboro, MA – The Islanders Hockey Club gained 3 of 6 points on the weekend by going 1-1-1 on the weekend at the annual Jr Bruins Shootout.  After an OT loss with only .03 left to CT (still good for 1 point), the Isles lost to PAL and ended the weekend on a high note with a 5-1 over the New Hampshire Monarchs.

GM/Head Coach Sean Tremblay commented on the weekend saying, “We are learning a lot at this stage of the season and each time we play we are getting a little better.  It is never easy assembling 20 new players and getting them on the same page, but the attitude this group has is outstanding and they are really buying in to what we are teaching them.  We certainly have a long way to go, but as legendary coach Lou Holtz often said, ‘we are not where we want to be, not where we are going to be, but thankfully we are not where we used to be,’  I am looking forward to another great week of practice with these guys and heading down to play the South Shore Kings this Sunday.”

Highlights:

Goalie Kalle Andersson is receiving a lot of D1 attention.  The 6’4 goaltender is showing he might be the top tender this season in the NCDC.

Young Dman Tyler Nasca scored his second goal of the year and is showing quick signs of improvement.  The 2001 from Buffalo is a legitimate D1 prospect and is a great skater.

Nikita Lopatin scored 2 goals in the CT game and hails from Moscow, Russia
