This time in home weekend vs CT Rangers

North Andover, MA The IHC NCDC team continued to earn points in league play, this past weekend earning 3 of 4 points hosting the Connecticut Rangers.  The Isles have now earned points in 7 of their last 8 games after and 0-3-1 start to the season.  They came back from a 2-0 deficit in the third period on Saturday and tied the game at 2-2 before losing in OT.  They managed to come back and earn a 4-2 win on Sunday.

Despite outshooting CT 30-14 after two periods of play in game 1, the Isles found themselves down 2-0.  A power play goal by Takato Cox was followed by a Janis Vizbelis strike to give CT the lead.  Late in the third period the IHC would tally their own power play goal when Connor Sweeney (UNH) would fire one past Troy Kobryn with 4:43 remaining.  Jack Moran (Maine) would assist on the play.  After taking a timeout and pulling their goaltender it would be Sweeney again pounding home a rebound from Moran and Hunter McCoy with just :34 seconds left in the game.  However, CT would take home the OT win when Colin Slyne scored on a rebound scrum with the teams playing 3x3.

Sunday’s contest would see a 1-1 game after one period with Hunter McCoy scoring for the IHC and Colin Slyne for CT.  In the second it would again be McCoy capping off a great play with a great move in tight tucking it past a prone Troy Kobryn.  Just over two minutes later while shorthanded, Marcus Seidl would one-time a goal off a great feed from Lewis Rowan.  CT would make it interesting in the third with a Trevor Bishop goal just 2:29 in providing for an entertaining 3rd period.  The drama would finally end when Nick Parody scored an empty netter with just :05 seconds left.  Goaltender Ismael Ralsten would earn his first win of the year stopping 23 of 25 shots faced.

The IHC travels to the Beantown Showcase this weekend and will play 3 games in 4 days.  Thursday will be an 11am contest with the Boston Bandits.  Next will feature a late game Saturday at 8:30pm against the Syracuse Stars followed by a 3:40pm game with the NJ Rockets.  All games will be at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, MA.
