Richard Gallant has been involved with various youth hockey organizations in Massachusetts for over 15 years. In 2010, Mr. Gallant became President of the Islanders Hockey Club. In August 2012, Mr. Gallant and the President of Merrimack College Dr. Christopher Hopey announced the formation of partnership between the two institutions to affect, among other things, a new home rink for the Islander Hockey Club at the new Volpe Center on the campus of Merrimack College.
Mr. Gallant’s current business interests include Chairman and Co-Founder of Global Technology Finance, LLC – a diversified financial services company - and Managing Member of Fibertech Medical – an endoscopic repair company. Up until December 2001, Mr. Gallant served as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston where he worked with private equity firms and private and public companies in structuring and financing LBOs, providing M&A advice and executing IPOs and sell side M&A processes to help monetize client investments. He earned his BA from Colgate University (economics) and a MS in Accounting and MBA in Finance from New York University Stern School of Business.
